However, Folio’s “standard” editions are beautiful, and the standard edition is a stunning book that will not disappoint, and it is far more likely you would use and enjoy it. ![]() The LE is obviously a very luxurious collector’s item. So yes, the two books look and feel very different. I assume here you’re talking about the standard van Sandwyk edition (because FS have also published editions illustrated by Tenniel) has the same illustrations as the LE (in fact, he added a couple more!) but is a much more readable size – being ‘normal’ book size (it’s about half as big and a quarter as thick as the LE). It was expensive when released and even more so now it’s out of print. The limited edition is really a collector’s item – it enormous, it has special ‘paste-ins’ (some of the illustrations have been pasted in as scraps of paper, to resemble a practice from Victorian times), it’s bound in leather, etc. Hi! There’s a huge difference between the limited and standard van Sandwyk Folio Alice in terms of cost and size, but not so much with content. This list is mainly focused on English language editions, but there are also a few foreign language editions because they are just too stunning to leave out. The illustrated bibliography below therefore includes only those editions that really stand out in some special way.
